I was 11 years old when I attended the Ethel Walker School riding summer camp that certainly changed my life. A whole new chapter in my life was opened; the life chapter of an equestrian. Following that camp, I enrolled at the Ethel Walker School and started taking riding lessons as a beginner. I worked very hard and soon I progressed and moved up.
Currently, I compete at A/AA rated shows at USEF, USHJA, NHS at 3’3’’ and 3’6’’ classes. I train at the Ethel Walker School with Linda Langmeier, and Jo Seaver, as well as at Kelianda Farm with Linda and McKayla Langmeier and Addy Cord. My competition highlights include:
• Qualifying and competing for all 3’3’’ Finals in 2020, 2021 and 2022
• 12th place in USHJA Hunt Seat Final
• top 20 riders in Taylor Harris Final
• top 25 riders in Hamel Foundation/NHS 3’3’’ final
I am currently a sophomore at the Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, CT. Despite the heavy riding schedule, I maintain my focus on academics. My mid-semester GPA is at High Honors level with Honors Pre-Calculus and Chemistry classes. When I am not in the show grounds or in training, I enjoy listening to music and traveling with my family to explore the world and learn about other cultures.
Having the opportunity to ride at the collegiate level would be only a natural evolution of the effort I have put into my equestrian youth career. I am very passionate about finding the University that would have the opportunity to ride for an NCAA Division I Equestrian Team. I find that my equestrian career so far has influenced me as a person, and offered me strong life skills such as discipline, patience and work ethic. I am looking forward to applying these skills in my work with my future team!
